Muscle Shoals Area Alumnae Chapter (MSAA) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

On March, 12, 1966, in Florence, Alabama the Muscle Shoals Area Alumnae Chapter (MSAA) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was established by 15 exceptional charter members. From day one the chapter immediately started taking its place as a leader in the community by serving. The MSAA Chapter’s first community service projects was the Ebony Fashion Fair.

Since its establishment the chapter has continued to strive for excellence not only in promoting the values of the sorority, but also in the community. Every year Muscle Shoals Area Alumnae hosts their Go Red luncheon to raise awareness about healthy hearts. MSAA also sponsors programs such as the Delta GEMS.

The chapter has always supported academic excellence. In the early years of MSAA, the chapter gave away their first scholarship in the amount of $300. In order to be able to provide more scholarships the chapter sponsors several projects such as the 2017 Community Leaders Calendar. Each year the scholarship amount increases, and now the chapter awards over $3,000 in scholarships to deserving high school seniors annually.
